He spent two months in basic training in Camrose, Alberta, then transfered to Fort Garry, Manitoba for the rest of his training. He developed scarlet fever and was admitted to King George Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In April 1942 he returned to Shilo, Manitoba until November 1942. He was then transfered to the 9th Coast Battery in Vancouver and Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada. Due to his father being ill, he was allowed a release from the Army and returned home to work the farm.

I found my grandmother's family on your home page. She was Josephine Croteau born in St Julien, child of Louis Croteau and Adele Noel. She married Hervey Henry, but I don't know where, about 1924 or 1925. She came to the US when she was 23 and married at about 25 yrs of age.
We don't have much information except that she died in Halifax (Sainte-Sophie-d'Halifax or Sainte-Sophie-de-Mιgantic) after living there from 1940 to 1979, we think in a convent.
I also think it's the Halifax in Megantic, Quebec, not Nova Scotia. She had 10 siblings. My mother was Marie Blanche Georgette Eva Henri, born in Farnham PQ.
