There is a male listed in the 1880 Baron Wisconsin Census with the initials N W. In the 1920 Census of her brother Elmer B Crotteau, she was listed as a widower.

This is a possiblity but with research the dates of birth are not the same.

She might have been visiting her brother Elmer B Crotteau in Rudolph, WI, during the 1920 US Census. She is listed as a widower with the last name of Shattuck.

The 1880 US Tutle Lake, Wi, USA census gives her year of birth at 1850 instead of 1856, and she has a 12 year old girl and a 2 year old boy both born in Iowa.

The 1920 US Rudolph, WI census gives her year of birth as 1858.

Research Notes: Child - Etta M. Shattuck

The 1880 Turtle Lake, WI Census indicated Etta was 12 years old at that time. Her mother Mary M indicated she was 30 years old.
