Ernest A. Crotteau
Ernest A. Crotteau, 75, of 440 Edgewater Lane, Nekoosa, died Sunday afternoon, May 9, 2004, at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery, Wausau.
Mr. Crotteau was born Sept. 17,1928, in Mosinee to Ernest and Myrtle (Pike) Crotteau. He married Alice Schave in 1953, and together, they had three children. After Alice's death, he married Bessie L. Schunke in 1985.
He served in the armed forces during the Korean War and was a plumber with Local 434 in Wisconsin Rapids for most of his life.
Mr. Crotteau is survived by his wife, Bessie, Nekoosa; three sons, Keith, Arizona, Dean (Laurie), Wausau and Steven (Marla), Racine; two step-children, Carl Schunke, Vesper, and Lucille (Jay) Turner, Marshfield; seven grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward (Genia); two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews on both sides.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice, three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Taylor Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until time of services Wednesday.

Eva A. Crateau WDH employee, avid walker Eva A. Crateau, 95, formerly of Cocheco Park, Dover, died Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Riverside Rest Home, Dover.
Born in Rochester on March 26, 1911, the daughter of George and Alice (Dube) Crateau, she attended schools in Gonic.
Miss Crateau worked in the housekeeping department at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover for more than 40 years, and retired in 1984. She had previously been employed as a cake decorator at Harvey's Bakery, the former M&M Bakery, and Crockett & Hussey Bakery.
She was an avid walker, and walked many miles each day until she moved to Riverside Rest Home at age 91.
She was a member of St. Charles Church. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Alice Courteau of Escondido, Calif., Andrew Courteau of Eliot, Maine, Theresa Hayes of Dover, and Thomas Courteau of West Roxbury, Mass.; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her sisters, Wilda Kilkullen and Laura M. Courteau, and a brother, Edward Crateau, predeceased her. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, June 1, at St. Charles Church, Dover, with burial following in St. Charles Cemetery.

Exzillia Kummet
Exzillia Kummet, 94, of Rice Lake died Nov. 14 at the Rice Lake Convalescent Center. A Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rice Lake, with Rev. Kevin Gordon officiating. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
The former Exzillia Crotteau was born June 3, 1902 in the Town of Doyle to Frank and Hermeline Crotteau. She married William Kummet on Nov. 27, 1923 in Dobie. They farmed in the Rice Lake area for many years, and after her husband's death in 1936, Exzillia hung wallpaper in many homes in the area. She was a member of the Rice Lake Moose Lodge.
Mrs. Kummet is survived by two daughters, Bette Lewis of Rockford, Ill., and Elaine Nieman of Loves Park, Ill.; a son, Wallace Kummet of River Falls; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Vallina Boury of Manitowoc.
Her son LeaVear died in 1993; a daughter, Phyllis Mosansky, died in 1995; she was also preceded in death by two grandchildren.
