MATTIUSSI, Anthony "Tony" Edmund On June 6, 2003 Anthony "Tony" Edmund Mattiussi of Beaumont, passed away at the age of 54 years.
Tony is survived by his loving family: his wife Annis; his daughter Amelia and his son Adam, both at home; his mother Norma Mattiussi of Leduc, his mother-in-law Marie Warby of Hamilton, Ontario; one brother Gary (Betty) of Chatham, Ontario; one sister Sandra (Stephen) Lindenback of Leduc, brother-in-law Don (Cindy) Warby of Hamilton, Ontario and by numerous relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his father Ott Mattiussi. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Vital Catholic Church, Beaumont with Reverend Karol Zynel as Celebrant.

A 54-year-old Beaumont man died when his car slammed into a light pole near Ellerslie Road yesterday after he swerved to avoid a slowing car in front of him, say police. A Chrysler Sebring was northbound on 50 Street about 6:18 a.m., then crossed Ellerslie Road and slowed to make a left turn. Anthony Mattiussi of Beaumont, who was driving a Pontiac Firefly behind the Sebring, braked to avoid the vehicle but started to skid and slid sideways into the light pole. He died at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle, said police. Northbound and southbound traffic on 50 Street near the crash was blocked off for hours during the morning commute as police investigated.
