George D. Croteau
ALLENSTOWN - George D. Croteau, 71, of Emile Drive, died Oct. 6, 2006, at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester.
He was born Dec. 13, 1934, in Manchester to Lucien and Eugenie (Gagne) Croteau. He spent most of his life in Manchester, moving to Allenstown three years ago.
Mr. Croteau was a truck driver for St. Johnsbury Trucking for 20 years and was also employed for the Manchester Transit Authority in the maintenance department.
He was a water commissioner for the city of Manchester, and a past member of the Knights of Columbus and the Rimmon Club.
Mr. Croteau was an organizer of Banjo Fest and was proud of the penmanship award he won in grammar school.
Family members include his wife, Irene (Baril) Croteau of Allenstown; three children, Denise Weir of North Carolina, Debbie Magnum of Manchester and Mark Croteau of Georgia; four stepchildren, John Valley and Michelle Baillargeon Lacroix, both of Manchester, and Lorraine Baillargeon Day and Linda Baillargeon Senecal, both of Allenstown; two grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat- grandchildren; four brothers, Gerald and Donald Croteau, both of Manchester, Gerard Croteau of Hurst, Texas, and Adrien Croteau of Peoria, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews.
Petit Funeral Home in Pembroke handled the arrangements.
