Patricia L. Frisinger, 68, Barron, Wis., died Thursday, April 22, 2010, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born March 24, 1942, at Rice Lake, the daughter of William and Helen (Heuer) Crotteau. Patricia graduated from Cameron High School in 1960. She was a receptionist at St. Joseph's Hospital, Rice Lake.
She also worked as a bookkeeper at Syke's Meat Company, Cameron. This is where she met her husband Donald Frisinger. They were married on Oct. 25, 1969, at the Baptist Church in Barron. She became a stepmother to Donald's two children from a former marriage.
In 1970 Don and Pat purchased Dolly Madison door-to-door milk delivery. In 1975 they sold the milk route and went into the wholesale meat business, delivering to stores, restaurants and taverns throughout Northwest Wisconsin. For the next 28 years they successfully ran the business from their home. Throughout their married life they worked side-by-side to grow a thriving business.
Pat had many interests. First and foremost was her love of animals, especially horses. She was an active member and served as president of the Indianhead Saddle Club for many years. She loved to hunt, fish, especially in Ontario, Canada, play dirty clubs and spend time with her many friends and large, loving extended family.
She had a great sense of humor and her smile would light up the room.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son Wendell (Valerie) of Eau Claire; a daughter Mary (Kurt) VanRoy of Eau Claire; grandchildren Megan Frisinger, Morgan Frisinger and Alex VanRoy; brothers Lloyd Crotteau and Kenny (Mary Jo) Crotteau, both of Canton, Jerry Crotteau of Cameron, Dale (Diane) Crotteau (brother) of Barron, Robert (Georgia) Crotteau of Cameron and Dennis Crotteau of Canton; sisters Carolyn (Al) Engstrom of Canton and Linda (Gary) VanLanen of Green Bay; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ray and her sister Arlene Davis.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, from Foursquare Gospel Church, Barron, with Rev. Wayne Espeseth officiating and burial at Pine Grove Cemetery, Town of Stanley, Barron County.
Visitation was held 4-8 p.m. Monday from Rausch and Steel Funeral Home, Barron, and an hour prior to services at the church.

Pete Crotteau Dies Suddenly
Peter P. Crotteau, 65, well known and universally liked Rice Lake resident, died suddenly early Monday morning at the Ed Kummett home at 209 W. Marshall st. of a heart attack.
"Pete" was found in an armchair by Mrs. Ed Kummett, at whose home he lived. She summoned his nephew Edward Demers, who lives next door, but he was past aid.
He was born Oct. 5, 1883 on the Crotteau homestead east of the city and had been a lifelong resident of this community. At one time he was a member of the police department, and had been employed as a bartender in local taverns. He was working for Carl Tate at the time of his death.
While he was known to have had a weak heart, he had been in apparent good health and had attended a movie the night before he was stricken.
Mr. Crotteau, who never married, is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Rosana Demers of Cloquet, Minn., and Mrs. M. J. Demers of this city, and two brothers, Arthur of Davison, Mont., and Henry of Rt. 4, Rice Lake. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. Thirty-three nephews and twenty-nine nieces survive.
The funeral will take place Thursday morning at 9:30 at St. Joseph's church with Msgr. Peter F. Meyer officiating and burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery. The body was taken this afternoon to the M. J. Demers home from the Schneider funeral home.
Rosary services were held at the Schneider chapel Monday and Tuesday night. The Knights of Columbus of which he was a member attended in a body Monday evening.

Peter Crotteau, 90, Buried Wednesday
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning for Peter A. Crotteau, 90, a Barron County resident all of his life, who died Monday morning at Lakeside hospital in Rice Lake.
Rev. James Dabruzzi conducted the rites at St. Joseph's Catholic church in the city, and burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Crotteau was born March 25, 1881 in the town of Doyle, and was a dairy farmer in the town of Sumner for many years.
He is survived by a son, Donald of Canton; two daughters, Marie Barger of Milwaukee and Myrtile Immerfall of Cameron; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Evelyn Rose Crotteau, 82, Evelyn Rose Crotteau, 82, of Cloquet went home in the arms of Jesus on Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. She was born Aug. 7, 1922, in Carlton to Albert and Mamie (Gravelle) White. Evelyn was a lifelong area resident and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Wee-Care Sewers and the Senior Bible Study. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, making wedding cakes, and especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Crotteau; a special daughter-in-law, Carolyn Crotteau; two brothers, Stanley White and Donald White; and one sister, June Homstad.
She is survived by three sons, Stanley (Sherry) Johnson of Culver, Ronald (Linda) Johnson of Cloquet and Earl Crotteau of Cloquet; one daughter, Sharyn (Louis) Hubbell of Cloquet; two sisters, Lois (Neil) Carter of Florence, Ore., and Alene (Rev. T.J.) Smith of Albany, Ore.; 10 grandchildren, Geneva Johnson, Cassie Johnson, Rawn (Sandra Cassio) Johnson, Amy (Dan) Wieden, Travis (Adelle Curley) Crotteau, Tara Crotteau, Adam Crotteau, Shannon (Chris) Jackson, Tammy (James) Psyck and Michael (Trista) Hubbell; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Monday, Jan. 3, from 5-8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, and resumed Tuesday, Jan. 4, from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Thomas Olson officiated. Pallbearers were Earl Crotteau, Louis Hubbell, Michael Hubbell, Travis Crotteau, Adam Crotteau, Jamie Psyck and Chris Jackson. Interment services followed at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
