ENGLEWOOD, Tenn. \emdash Arthur E. "Yummy" Croteau Sr., 64, of Englewood, Tenn., passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Croteau was a native of Methuen, a former resident of Salem, N.H., Port Charlotte, Fla., and McMinn County, Tenn.
He was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus in Tennessee.
He worked for Western Electric while in Massachusetts, and later retired from Publix Supermarket in Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emile P. and Lea Gaudreau Croteau; his brother, Henry Croteau; and sister Louise Croteau Fuller. He is survived by his wife, Paulette Dionne Croteau of Tenn., four sons and three daughters-in-law, Arthur Jr. and Karen of Virginia, Paul and Francoise of Florida, Robert and Heidi, of Tennessee, Eugene "Gene" Croteau of Florida, two brothers and sisters-in-law: Louis and Irene Croteau of Haverhill, Leo and Theresa Croteau, of Methuen; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Stella and Richard Beaudoin of Methuen, Rita and John Ahern of Hampstead, N.H., 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Bernice A. Saffert, 85, Rice Lake, Wis., died Friday, April 27, 2007, at Lakeview Medical Center, Rice Lake.
Advertisement She was born March 6, 1922, at Rice Lake to Henry and Eliza (Demers) Crotteau and graduated from Whittier School, Rice Lake.
Bernice married Leonard Saffert at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rice Lake, on Oct. 3, 1944. She was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Women of the Moose.
Bernice enjoyed crocheting afghans, knitting, gardening, quilting, sewing, upholstering, playing guitar and piano and playing cards.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Janet (Brian) Hamilton of Chetek, Dan (Bonnie) and Ella Mae Saffert, both of Rice Lake, Larry (Sandie) of Cameron, Marlene (Al) Hansen of Sarona, Steve (Jan) of Rice Lake, Kevin (Clare) of Cumberland, Bernie (Shannon), Ed (Doreen) and Lynette (Rob) Buehler, all of Rice Lake; 29 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Jane (Bob) McGarvey of Rice Lake; and brothers, Henry "Skip" (Marge) Crotteau of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Bob (Diane) Crotteau of Rice Lake.
A daughter, Julie, and 10 brothers and sisters preceded Bernice in death.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 30, from St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rice Lake, Father Jim Powers officiating, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Rice Lake. Pallbearers were Matt Hamilton, Brian Saffert, Riley Saffert, Josh Saffert, Chad Saffert and Ben Buehler.
Jarocki Funeral Home and Cremation, Rice Lake, handled arrangements.

Beverly Crotteau
Beverly Crotteau, 78, Banning, Calif., died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at Cherry Valley Healthcare in Banning.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Al Wierzba will officiate. Burial will be in St. Philip's Cemetery in Rudolph.
Beverly was born Sept. 6, 1927, in Rudolph, the daughter of Edward and Minerva (Peters) Crotteau. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1945 and later from Loyola University in Chicago, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree. She worked in Chicago at Natural Gas Pipelines until retiring and moving to California.
Beverly is survived by her sister, Shirley (William) Rasmussen of Wisconsin Rapids; and two brothers, Lyle (Karen) Crotteau of Banning, Calif., and Roger (Carolyn) Crotteau of Cypress, Calif. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Russell. Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is handling all arrangements
