On December 3rd, 2009, Joan Ann (Lynch) Vivian, the daughter of Alexander Wroblewski and Lillian Cora Mattison, was found deceased in her apartment at the Bardwell House in Rutland.
Joan was born December 23rd, 1942, in the Bronx borough of New York City. In 1952, Joan, brother Alex Jr., sister Linda and mother Lillian moved to the Bellows Falls, Rockingham, area of Vermont. Joan's mom, Lillian, worked in Bellows Falls and raised her three children there while her husband continued working in New York and traveled weekends to see them.
Joan graduated from the Bellows Falls High School and after graduation, married her high school love, Donald Lynch. Joan and Donald, or Donny as he was known, had two sons, Michael John and Jeffrey Scott.
In 1977, Joan and her children moved to the city of Rutland, Vt. Joan was always known as a hard-working, fun-loving and humble person by those she worked for and those who knew her on a more personal level. Joan's work ethic and sense of humor were traits she worked hard to instill in her sons. Joan's work career included a long period of service to the Sisters of St. Joseph's retirement center on Meadow Street in Rutland where she developed long-lasting relationships with the Sisters and patients.
Joan was a loving mother who would do anything for her sons and a friend of all who knew her. Her quirky humor and love of life carried her through many rough times until God saw fit to call her home. Joan is survived by her sons, Mike Lynch and wife Michelle and children of West Valley, Utah, Jeff Lynch and wife Susan and children of South Burlington, Vt., and sister Linda Stevenson and husband John of Hydeville, Vt. Joan was a caring grandmother to her four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. Joan will be deeply missed by all that love her.
Services for Joan will be held at Clifford Funeral Home, 2 Washington St., Rutland, Vt., on Saturday, December 12th, at 11:00 a.m.
