General Notes: Husband - James Thomas Wedding
James T. Wedding enlisted with Captain E.S. Williams of Co.K, 146th Regiment Illinois Infantry Volunteers, Sept. 13, 1864 in Quincy, IL. He was discharged on July 8, 1865 at Springfield, IL. At his enlistment he was 5'5" tall with grey eyes, auburn hair and a light complexion. For part of his service he was with an attachment at Camp Butler, Jan/Feb. 1865.
He then travelled up the Mississippi River to the Black River Valley, near Black River Falls, WI. He settled in and around Neillsville, WI. He married Laura Bolin (as per marriage license) and they then moved to Wausau, WI. He became a police officer in the city of Wausau. In 1894 he lost his wife and his daughter and subsequently moved back to Neillsville, where he married a 2nd time.
He became the Police Chief of Neillsville, WI. He later moved to Portland, OR and died there June 20, 1922. He is buried at the Mt. Scott Cemetery. "Sleep noble one in your grave alone, you will be numbered with the noble, good and true."

Research Notes: Wife - Nora
Ancestry World Tree indicated Nora Wedding died in 1894 Wausau, Marathon, Wisconsin, USA but there were two more children born after this date. She and her daughter Nettie Wedding, died together in an accident apparently.
