Wm McEwan eldest son of late Mr & Mrs Alex McEwan of Mt Forest passed away in Hamilton on Thursday of last week July 20 1944 after an illness of 3 weeks The deceased was born in Mount Forest May 24 1874 and for a time worked in Montreal where he was married to Margaret Fourney whose death occurred last November 1943. Twenty two years ago Mr & Mrs McEwan moved to Hamilton where they have since resided.
The funeral service was held at the chapel on Friday evening and the remains brought to Mount Forest on Saturday via Canadian Nationl Railways Interment took place in family plot in Mount Forest cem sevice by Rev JW Pratt of the united Church pall bearers were Messrs D J Cummins; R G Breber; A J Corbett; J Barnard; Ennis Murphy and T W Padfield
Members of the family in attendance at the funeral were the deceased's sisters Jewell Mrs Mawhinney of Bolsover; Elizabeth Mrs Edwards of Beaverton and brothers Grant and Turnbull of Hamilton Mrs Turnbull McEwan was also present A sister Ida, Mrs Hodgson of Pontiac MI also survives.

Noah Randolph Fraley Noah Randolph Fraley, was born July 5, 1875, and died July 5, 1930 on his 55th birthday, in his home at Beechy, Ky. Death was due to heart trouble. Mr. Fraley, who was well known throughout that section, was united in marriage to Emma Shover, on April 4, 1897.
To this union 15 children were born. Eight preceded him in death. He leaves his wife and the following children: Joseph, Sherman, Ruby, Noah Jr., Virgil, Arnold at home, Mrs. Joseph Allen of Beechy, Ky.; the following brothers and sisters; William T. Fraley, Johannasburg, Mich.; James Fraley, Fire Brick, Ohio; Mrs. Laura Lawson, 2330 Eighth street.
He also leaves a host of other friends and relatives. He united with the Holiness church at McCall, Ky., and was a member for more than 14 years. He later joined the Enterprise Baptist church of Beechy, Ky. Funeral services were held in the Enterprise church at 2:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Robert Meenach conducting the services. Interment was made in the Harr cemetery at Beauty Ridge, Ky.

Years ago, I visited Bennett's Chapel Cemetery with dad and it was one of the few times that it has been cleaned off and he showed me the grave site for six or seven of the siblings who had died at an early age. The site is not far from Emma's grave.
Another bit of info, Ruby married Luis Earl Clem and they are both buried in Nobleville, IN. The family bible is interesting in that the first two children last name was spelled as Frailey instead of Fraley.

(Hazel M. Harr Fraley 1914-2004) Hazel M. Harr Fraley, 89, of South Shore, Ky., died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, in Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born June 8, 1914, in Greenup County, Ky., a daughter of the late Benjamin H. Harr and Mary Anna Lawson Harr.
She attended the former South Shore Pilgrim Holiness Church and was a homemaker and housewife. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman H. Fraley, on Sept. 1, 1993; two daughters, Wanda Saylor and Louise Fraley; three brothers, James E. Harr, Thurman E. Harr and William F. Harr; and one sister, Stella Warnock.
Surviving are two sons, Charles B. Fraley of South Shore and James S. Fraley of Warner Robin, Ga.; three daughters, Shirley Hawkins of Fort Wayne, Ind., Stella E. Fraley of South Shore and Judy A. Villa of Fredericksburg, Va.; four brothers, Walter Harr of South Shore, Carl B. Harr and Brady P. Harr, both of Columbus, Ohio, and Charles Raymond Harr of Zephryhills, Fla.; one sister, Garnet Pollitt of South Shore; 15 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore with the Rev. Mark Baer officiating. Burial will be in Collier Memorial Gardens in South Portsmouth, Ky.
