Research Notes: Husband - Naton W. Shattuck

There is a male listed in the 1880 Baron Wisconsin Census with the initials N W. In the 1920 Census of her brother Elmer B Crotteau, she was listed as a widower.

This is a possiblity but with research the dates of birth are not the same.
Wisconsin, USA Census 1820-1890

County: Barron County
Township: E.D. 19 Turtle Lake Township

Research Notes: Wife - Mathilda Lilly Crotteau

She might have been visiting her brother Elmer B Crotteau in Rudolph, WI, during the 1920 US Census. She is listed as a widower with the last name of Shattuck.

The 1880 US Tutle Lake, Wi, USA census gives her year of birth at 1850 instead of 1856, and she has a 12 year old girl and a 2 year old boy both born in Iowa.

The 1920 US Rudolph, WI census gives her year of birth as 1858.

Research Notes: Child - Etta M. SHATTUCK

The 1880 Turtle Lake, WI Census indicated Etta was 12 years old at that time. Her mother Mary M indicated she was 30 years old.

I can't positively find the parents for Maurice aka: Morris Croteau, Maurice Cretton. I'm not positive that Jacques and Marie are his parents just yet.

Time Line for Maurice:
Born - 1819 or 1826 QC or Switzerland!! It could be the truth here.
1851 - QC
1857 - QC - Marriage?
1858 - Wisconsin - 1860 census
1864 - Michigan
1867 - Michigan
1869 - Minnesota - 1870 census *
1875 - Minnesota - 1880 census *

Not positive of her last name, VERSE.

General Notes: Child - Margaret L. CROTTEAU

I believe that Margaret Crotteau, daughter of Caroline was originally a REIF. She and Caroline are in Wisconsin in 1860 when Margaret is 2. Margaret RIFE married Windham ANEZ who died 14 Jul 1893. In 1895, newly widowed with ten children, Margaret is living with or next door to Maurice and Caroline in Stillwater, Minnesota. I always heard there was a CROTTEAU connection but marriage license says RIFE (as opposed to REIF).

Research Notes: Husband - Orville Clarence Crotteau

I keep viewing a Henry Crotteau (age unknown) that lived with Orrville Croteau but I can't find the relationship just yet. I would assume it is his son.

Notes: Marriage

There may be a problem here... if Audrey was born in 1948, this couple were not married until 1960 according to the obituary. Orville would have been 44 at the time of this first marriage in 1960.
