There are two dates of birth for Vincent... one in 1644 the other is 1647. The majority of researchers have used the 1647 version.
There are two indicators of his death. Latter Day Saints records the death as 11 Nov 1730. Apparently there is a record noted during the wedding of his son Pierre Croteau in 1715 that his father is no longer with them. This places the death between March 1711 - 1715.
John Croteau discovered the death dates (1644 or 1647) often listed for Vincent Croteau must be wrong. Vincent served as godfather for Nicolas' first-born child, Nicolas Jr., on February 24, 1711.

GRAFTON \emdash Dycal I. (Powell) Croteau, 89, passed away April 13, 2010. Her husband of 46 years, Vincent V. Croteau, passed in 1999.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle L. Gingras and her husband Thomas of Worcester; three grandchildren: Thomas P. Gingras, Laura M. O'Keefe, Rachel L. Gingras; two great grandchildren: Curtis and Cayden O'Keefe all of Worcester; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Irving and Mary (Pinkham) Powell; four brothers: Maurice, Almond, Carl, Edmund Powell; five sisters: Zelma Carlisle, Rachel McMullen, Amy Best, Lola Sullivan, Bernice Laffey.
Mrs. Croteau was born July 27, 1920 in Augusta, ME. She was raised in Gardner, ME before moving to Grafton over 50 years ago. She was a riveter during World War II at a shipyard in ME. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse working many years at Grafton State Hospital and then at Westborough State Hospital for a short time after Grafton State Hospital was closed. Dycal was a devoted, loving mother, and grandmother who spent most of her life caring for her family. She will be truly missed. She was a parishioner of St. James Catholic Church and a member of The MA Retired State Employees Association. She also loved her summer cottage in Dennisport where she spent many summers with her family.
The funeral will be held Saturday, April Chapel, 124 Main St. in South Grafton followed by the celebration of a Funeral Mass at 10 am in St. James Catholic Church, 89 Main St. in South Grafton. She will then be laid to rest with her husband in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. All are invited to calling hours Friday, April 16th from 5 to 8 pm in the funeral home.
