Sailey Ai Farnum Ennis

GRANITEVILLE ? Sailey Ai Farnum Ennis, 77, died Saturday, March 25, 2006, at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born April 28, 1928, in Marshfield, he was the son of Ai and Helen (Phelps) Ennis. He attended schools in Marshfield. He served in the United States Navy.
In July of 1946, he married Shirley Croteau. Following their marriage, they lived in Marshfield and Barre Town. They were divorced. He later married Sylvia Lewis.
Ennis worked for many years at Washington Electric Co-Op in East Montpelier working his way up from lineman and retiring as general manager. He also worked at Northfield Electric for several years as the manager.
His memberships included the Canadian Club of Barre and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, IBEW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and vegetable gardening.
Sailey is survived by two sons, Donald Ennis and his wife, Alice of Graniteville, and Ricky Ennis of Kilmarnock, Scotland; two daughters, Donna Cerutti and her husband, Bryan of Clayton, N.C., and Bonnie Moore and her husband, John of Mead, Wash.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Ennis and his wife, Margaret of Plainfield and Leland Ennis of Cabot; a sister, Hazel Fullam of Wellsville, N.Y.; numerous nieces and nephews. Survivors also include his longtime companion, Helen Strachan of Barre.
Two brothers, Chipp Ennis and Clarence Ennis and a sister, Geraldine Ennis, who died in infancy, predeceased him.
His service will be held at a later date and interment will be in the Eaton Cemetery in Marshfield.
Contributions in his memory may be made to Berlin Health & Rehabilitation Center, Patient Activities Fund, 98 Hospitality Drive, Barre, VT 05641.
