General Notes: Child - Medora Bertha Alberta LAGASSE

I am Juana , the granddaughter of Madora (LaGasse) Remillard. I see there were a few bits of your fabulous 'puzzle' missing, and thought I'd help you fit them in...

- Medora was a Textile Worker. Spoke mostly French, little English. Hobbies included making quilts, afghans, and keeping family portraits. Daughter Marie Peevey (Cross Plains, TX) and granddaughter Juana (Minneapolis, MN) hold the albums she kept photos and cards in.

- Mame's first daughter, Helena, died in a car accident in 1981 in Tomball, TX. Her husband, William Holland, was seriously injured in the accident as well.

- Mame's third daughter's name is actually Lucille, who has remarried and lives in Lewiston, ME.

- According to her birth certificate, Mame's birth name was Bertha Alberta, but she was known to all as Madora.

- Mame's albums are currently held by myself, now living in Lewiston, ME, and by Helena's oldest daughter who still resides in TX.

No confirmation on birth.

Death Notes: Husband - Edward E. Derocher

It appeared that Francis Derocher was born in 1901. She could have been pregnant when he died, or at least he died very shortly thereafter.

Research Notes: Husband - Edward E. Derocher

Doug suggested an alternate name used by Edward was STONE.

There is an Edward Derocher, age 23 found in the 1880 Manchester, NH, USA census who was born in Vermont, married to a Delia Derocher age 18 - which means she was born in 1862 - the same year that Rose Delima Croteau was born - or allegedly born.

Name: Edward Derocher Home in 1880: Manchester, Hillsborough, New Hampshire Age: 23 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1857 Birthplace: Vermont Relation to Head of Household: Self (Head) Spouse's Name: Delia Father's birthplace: Canada Mother's birthplace: Canada Neighbors: Occupation: Teamster Marital Status: Married Race: White Gender: Male

I'll just bet this is the correct couple... she changes her date of birth depending on the circumstances facing her.

Research Notes: Wife - Rose Delima Croteau

Find the 1900 US Census for this lady... it is important to see who she was married to at that time.
