(MIRIAM) EUNICE KARTHOLL, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, her 84th birthday, at Woodview Healthcare, Inc., where she resided for several years. She was the daughter of Clarence and Angela (Wandrie) Croteau.
Eunice was a life-long parishioner of St. Jude Catholic Church, where she attended grade school, was married to Tony, enrolled all her children and volunteered for many years.
She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and St. Mary's College at Notre Dame, and was retired from L.S. Ayres Tea Room in Glenbrook.
She is survived by daughters, Karen and Nancy Kartholl and Maria Rondot; sons, Alan, Gregory, Joel and William Kartholl; sons-in-law, Philip Minch (Karen), William Rondot, and Thomas Hofrichter (Nancy); daughters-in-law, Mary Ellen Geary (Alan) and Vickie (Joel) and Renee (William) Kartholl; and grandchildren, Joanna and Ellen Minch, Alan Jr., Nolan, and Natalia Kartholl, Adam, Jeffrey and John Kartholl, Melanie and Amanda Rondot, and Lindsey, Chandler and Broderic Kartholl; sisters-in-law, Mary Monroe (J.D.) (nee Kartholl), Kathleen Kartholl (James), Mary (John) and Thelma (Clarence) Croteau; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend from childhood, Florence Minick (Ralph).
Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony A. Kartholl, in 2005; her brothers, Clarence Jr., John, James and William Croteau; and her grandson Nathan Rondot.
Her family and friends will remember fondly how Eunice enjoyed playing euchre with the "club ladies", going out to eat, traveling with friends, going to the theater, betting with Tony on the Kentucky Derby or a Notre Dame football game, reading mystery novels, attending St. Mary's reunions, and being a devoted "Mimi" to her grandkids since 1980.
The Kartholl family wishes to express its sincerest gratitude to the owner and staff of Woodview Healthcare Center for the outstanding care and loving treatment they provided to both Tony and Eunice during their respective residencies there.

General Notes: Wife - Miriam Eunice Croteau
February 3, 2008 You have my deepest sympathy. I knew Eunice and Tony because I belonged to the Saint Mary's Club in Fort Wayne when we attended the parties they had. She was a student at SMC at the same time as I was in 1944-1946 and we traveled back and forth to South Bend on the ABC bus. We also had her brother "Mr. Croteau" teach our children at St. Vincent's School. Those were good years. My husband and I now live in an apartment in Christus St. Joseph Village in Coppell TX and our daughter takes care of us. We can walk down the hall to daily Mass. I pray we will meet Eunice and Tony again in Heaven. God bless you.

Since Marie was born in 1875, it is quite possible she was from another marrieage. Delima was much older than Misael Croteau when they married.

I figure that Marie was the product of a marriage prior to Missael Croteau and Delima Martel. She might have been orphaned from a neighbour!

Nick Name "Tibe" Information from Roger Croteau. I'm not sure what this nick name stands for. According to the 1911 Census, Napoleon and Emile lived 4 farms away from each other in Melbourne Township, Richmond, Quebec, Canada.
Napoleon and Natale CROTEAU, lived next door to Robert and Mable PATRICK. My G- Grandfather, Emile and Annie CROTEAU lived 3 farms south of Napoleon who lived next to Robert PATRICK.
General Notes: Child - Arthur Ferdinand CROTEAU
Arthur CROTEAU married the girl next door literally, when he married Rita PATRICK who actually lived on the next farm down the road. Information located in the 1911 Census reports.
