Louis N. Croteau, 85, of Usher Road passed peacefully February 26, 2009 with his family at his side. His wife of 56 years, Mary (Monfreda) passed September 22, 2000.
He is survived by four children, Henry L. Croteau and his wife Angela of Millbury, Cecile B. Ponton of Grafton, Suzanne M. McCarthy and her husband Roger of West Boylston, Joyce L. Carey and her husband Shawn of Franklin; two sisters, Dorothy Francks of South Grafton, Mabel Brodeur of West Brookfield; one brother, Alexander Croteau of Upton; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and his longtime canine companion "Jasper".
He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Pamelia (Girouard) Croteau many years ago and his brother Robert December 24, 2008. Louis was born April 6, 1923 in Marlboro NH and came to Grafton in 1929.
Mr. Croteau was a US Army World War II veteran serving as a radioman Tech 5 in The European African Middle Eastern Theater fighting in the battles of Ardennes, Rhineland and central Europe.
Louis was a truck driver for Anchor Motor Freight of Framingham delivering new General Motors automobiles for many years. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in North Grafton and a member of Teamsters and Truck Drivers Local # 170 in Worcester. He enjoyed his family, his "pal" Jasper, camping, boating, fishing and he was an enthusiastic Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Memorial donations in his name are suggested by his family to The Grafton Food Bank, 30 Providence Road Grafton MA 01519.
All are invited to calling hours Sunday March 1st from 2 to 5 p.m in The Roney Funeral Home North Chapel, 152 Worcester St. North Grafton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday March 2nd at 10:30 a.m in St. Mary's Church, 17 Waterville St. North Grafton.
(Everyone attending Monday is respectfully requested to go directly to the church) He will then be laid to rest with military honors next to his wife in St. Philip's Cemetery.

HAVERHILL \emdash Love all whom you hold dear. Precious is the time that you share. Do not wait for tomorrow, for tomorrow may not be. Irene (Pincince) Croteau, took her walk home on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009 surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Irene was born in Lawrence and was a Lawrence High graduate. She raised her family in Methuen and spent her last years in Haverhill. Irene was a devoted Patriots and Red Sox fan. She loved playing cards, bingo and spending time at camp. Most of all, she loved spending time caring for her family. Irene was a loving wife, mother, Memere and sister. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her family, something she was most proud of. Her love, generosity and kindness was her most precious gift to all that knew her. A gift that we will pass on in her memory.
Irene is survived by her husband of 40 years, Louis Croteau , two daughters, Nicole (Croteau) Maguder and her husband Matthew and Monique Croteau. grandchildren, Katerina, Zachary and Myranda Maguder; sisters, Carol Pincince and Marie (Pincince) Silva; brothers, Kenneth and Mark Pincince as well as several brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to Dr. Nguyen and staff at the Cancer Center at Holy Family Hospital and to Beacon Hospice for their invaluable care and support.
