Henry L. Croteau, 57 passed away December 10, 2009 after being stricken ill at home Wednesday. He is survived by his wife of 22 years Angela A. (Pezzella) Croteau, twin daughters Kimberly M, Kelly R. and one son Andrew L. all at home, three sisters Cecile B. Ponton of Grafton, Suzanne M. McCarthy and her husband Roger of West Boylston, Joyce L. Carey and her husband Shawn of Franklin, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, two great nieces and one great nephew.
He was born July 31, 1952 in Worcester the son of the late Louis N. (2009) and Mary B. (Monfreda) Croteau (2000), raised in Grafton and has lived in Millbury for 22 years.
Mr. Croteau was a graduate of Grafton High School and Lowell Tech earning a Bachelor of Science. He began a career in sales at the former Richard's Honda in Worcester and then worked 25 years at Flexcon in Spencer. Hank was a devoted husband and father whose family was his greatest love. Summers included individual one on one vacations with each of his children. He was an avid Red Sox fan, and enjoyed boating, fishing, golf, playing cards and in recent years he had become an excellent cook.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Henry L. Croteau Childrens Trust Fund c/o Grafton Suburban Credit Union, 86 Worcester St. North Grafton MA 01536 in lieu of flowers. Funeral & Calling Hours All are invited to calling hours Sunday December 13th from 2 to 5 pm in The Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St. in North Grafton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday December 14th at 10:30 am in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 17 Waterville St. in North Grafton. (All attending Monday are respectfully asked to go directly to the church) He will then be laid to rest in St. Philips Cemetery in Grafton.

Henry Croteau, 75 of Rockwood an Auburn native, died late Thursday night at the VA Center Hospital at Togus following a long illness.
Born in Auburn, July 27, 1900 the son of Napoleon and Adelaide Champagne Croteau, he was a retired textile worker.
Mr. Croteau was a World War I and World War II Navy veteran and a member of the VFW in Auburn.
Survivors include his widow, the former Ida Larochele of Rockwood; four sisters, Mrs. Blanche Taylor or Rochester, NH, Mrs. Henry (Annette) Morrissette of Auburn, Mrs. Adelard (Juliette) Larochelle of Willimantic, Conn and Mrs. Hever (Alma) Lafontaine of Rockwood; and two brothers Adelard and Leonard Croteau both of Auburn.

Mrs. Ida Croteau, 68, of Rockwood, formerly of Auburn, died Friday afternoon at the Montello Manor Nursing home following a long illness.
Born at St. Come, QC, July 24, 1907, the daughter of Maximilien and Marie (Larochelle) Larochelle, she had resided at Rockwood the past year prior to that resided at Abbott for 25 years, and before that lived in Auburn.
Her husband, J.E. Henry Croteau, died in February of this year. She was a member of St. Josephs Church at Rockwood and was a retired textile worker.
Survivors include two sisters; Mrs. Louisa Vehous of North New Portland and Mis Marie Larochelle of Lewiston, and four brothers, Adelard Larochelle of North Windham, Conn. Joseph Larochelle of Lisbon, Wilfred Emile Larochelle of Lisbon Center and Arthur Larochelle of Hull, Mass.

My grandfather was Homer Croteau, married to Gladys Croteau, he lived in Hartford Connecticut for many years then moved to Ossining New York . He passed away when I was a child, I'm not sure what year it was- maybe the late 60s? Gladys lived quite a bit longer and married a man that traveled the country racing greyhounds, then she settled in florida till she passed away.
My dad has a brother Robert who was living in Florida with my grandma till she died, and a sister Ginger who married into the last name Magee and she lives on Harry Street in Conshohoken Pennsylvania.

Found a marrage certificate for a Gladys I Croteau, who married Peter Cordell, March 1967 in Seminole, FL, USA. My sources didn't indicate if she was divorced from Homer - since he died in 1977.
The 1920 US Census indicated that Omer was married at age 19. At that time he had a 5 year old (born c 1925) son named Armand.
Unable to locate any census reports around 1930 that shows both Homer and Glady's together.
