CROTEAU, SR., LESLIE N.
On November 6th, Leslie N. Croteau, Sr., 73, of Ocoee, FL. went home to be with the Lord. He died surrounded by a loving family, after a hard and brave battle with cancer.
Born in Springfield, MA on June 24, 1934, he was the son of George, Sr. and Helen Walsh Croteau. Mr. Croteau was retired from the wholesale grocery business as a sales supervisor for Sweet Life Foods. Mr. Croteau was of the Roman Catholic faith and was a U.S. Marine veteran, serving in the Korean War.
He was married to the former Patricia Swinarski. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Leslie N., Jr., David, and Raymond Charest; four daughters, Susan Wood, Nancy Westcott, Heather Monroe and Amy Fischer; two brothers, George, Jr., and Carl; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Croteau was pre-deceased by a brother, Paul, and two sisters, Theresa Dupre and Joyce Carney. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 17th at 1PM at Resurrection Catholic Church, Winter Garden, with Fr. Alex Dalpiaz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Comforter, 480 West Central Parkway, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714. (Ocoee, Florida) - Patricia (Swinarski) Croteau, 62, of Ocoee, Florida and formerly of Springfield died Thursday August 14, 2008 at her home. Patricia was born in Springfield on August 5, 1946, a daughter of the late Patrick and Lorraine (Castonguay) Swinarski. She had resided in Ocoee, Florida for the past 16 years and previously in Springfield for the past 46 years. Patricia was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Springfield and a member of the AmVets Women's Auxiliary Post 12 of Chicopee. Patricia was employed for 10 years by Walmart as a Customer Service Representative.
Besides her parents Patricia was predeceased by her husband Leslie N. Croteau, Sr. who died November 6, 2007. Patricia is survived by her children, Raymond Charest and his wife Gina of Jacksonville, FL, Heather Monroe and her companion Toby Johnson of Clermont, FL, Amy Fischer of Ocoee, FL, and Susan Wood and her husband Philip Wood, Jr. of Springfield, Les Croteau, of Southwick, MA, David Croteau and his wife Kim of Agawam, MA, and Nancy Westcott of Springfield; three sisters, Laurie Vickers, of Houston, TX, Candace Gilhooly of Glastonbury, CT, and Marilyn Swinarski of East Hartford, CT; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours for Patricia will be held on Friday morning from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield with a funeral home service to follow at 12:30 p.m. Rites of Committal and burial will be held in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. OLD ORCHARD BEACH -- Lillian J. Cyr, 86, of Old Orchard Beach died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at her home after battling cancer.
She was born in Coleraine, PQ, Canada on July 12, 1921, the daughter of Joseph and Claudia Martineau Croteau. She came to the local area as a young child and was educated in Saco schools.
On April 20, 1942, she married Lewis Cyr in Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, Saco. He died Sept. 1, 2006. Mrs. Cyr was a homemaker. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, the former Fremont Club and Notre Dame de Lourdes Church. She enjoyed cooking and playing cards.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Emilien and Raymond Croteau, and four sisters, Yvette Labonte, Laurette Ouellette, Therese Croteau and Fernande Page. Surviving are three daughters, Priscilla Vaillancourt of Lithia, Fla., Lorraine Ouellette and her husband Nelson of Biddeford, Sandra Dalrymple and husband Gary of Old Orchard Beach, one son, Donald R. Cyr and his wife Joan of Riverview, Fla.;
five brothers, Norman L. Croteau and his wife Claire of Saco, Wilfrid Croteau and his wife Huguette of Old Orchard Beach, Robert Croteau and his wife Noella of Saco, Raoul Croteau and his wife Fernande of Saco, Gerard Croteau and his wife Linda of Saco, four sisters, Rachel Laflamme of Saco, Evelyn Menard and her husband Edgar of Blackstone, Mass., Jacqueline Robson of Richmond, Va., Simonne Doyon and husband Roland of Ocean Park; five grandsons, five granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, at Hope Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Saco. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford.

CROTEAU, Lionel April 1913 - July 2007 Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 22, 2007 at the age of 94 years.
He was the son of the late Aurelien Croteau and Marie Anne Aubrey. Lionel leaves behind his dear wife of 64 years Claire Legault, his two daughters, Francine (Richard Vachon) and (the late Bernard Laflamme), Nicole (John Beggs) as well as his two grandchildren Martin Laflamme (Carrie Beckman) and Brigitte Laflamme (Stephane Lefebvre).
Friends are invited to visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Thursday, July 26, from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Prayers to celebrate Lionel's life will be said at 11 a.m. For those who wish tributes and donations may be directed to the Alzheimers' Society or to the Ottawa Humane Society.
