I found my grandmother's family on your home page. She was Josephine Croteau born in St Julien, child of Louis Croteau and Adele Noel. She married Hervey Henry, but I don't know where, about 1924 or 1925. She came to the US when she was 23 and married at about 25 yrs of age.
We don't have much information except that she died in Halifax (Sainte-Sophie-d'Halifax or Sainte-Sophie-de-Mégantic) after living there from 1940 to 1979, we think in a convent.
I also think it's the Halifax in Megantic, Quebec, not Nova Scotia. She had 10 siblings. My mother was Marie Blanche Georgette Eva Henri, born in Farnham PQ.

Accused pleads not guilty in spouse's death

St. Hyacinthe - Two years ago Ghislain Dion reported his common-law wife missing. Today he pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder in the death of Julie Croteau, 32.
The murder trial began today at the courthouse in St. Hyacinthe, about 60 kilometres east of Montreal, with jury selection in the morning.
Lawyers questioned the 156 candidates in order to select the seven-man, five-woman panel.
In the afternoon, Judge Richard Wagner delivered lengthy instructions to the jury on their role throughout the process.
Prior to that, Dion, a balding man with short brown hair, dressed in a purple button-down shirt replied, "not guilty," when Wagner asked him how he would respond to the charges against him.
The trial will resume Tuesday morning with opening arguments and testimony from police and expert witnesses.
It's expected Tuesday's testimony will focus on the details of Croteau's death and the discovery of her body by the Sûrete du Quebec. (Police)
The SQ have said little about the discovery of Croteau's body, only that she died violently.
She was found in the trunk of her Honda Civic on Oct. 27, 2005 next to a graffiti tag which read, "I kill 4 fun."
Police have since said the graffiti is not related to the crime, but rather to a video game. Still, residents of the small town of St. Liboire, about 85 kilometres east of Montreal, were nonetheless alarmed by the murder.
Dion, 37, a mechanic, reported Croteau missing two days earlier, after she failed to pick up a friend.

Police arrested Dion five months after the murder. The SQ said they made the arrest after getting results of tests on material from the car where Croteau was found and from evidence found at the couple's home in St. Liboire.
