A service for Albert J. Croteau, 79, of Rahway will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Zion Lutheran Church, Elm at Esterbrook avenues, Rahway. Arrangements are by the Pettit-Davis Funeral Home, Rahway.
Mr. Croteau, who died Wednesday in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway, was a produce supervisor at the Wakefern Corp. in Elizabeth, where he worked for 35 years before retiring in 1989.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he was awarded the European-African-Middle East Ribbon and the Blue Enamel Star. He was a plank owner and a member of the original crew that commissioned the USS Lake Champlain.
Mr. Croteau was a member, past commander and trustee of the American Legion Post 5, Rahway.
Born in Linden, he moved to Rahway in 1958. Surviving are Julia, his wife of 60 years; a son, Albert J. III; daughters, Lee Thor and Susan Weigman; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren

Mrs. Julia Croteau, 81, of Rahway died Friday 22 Feb 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. Services will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2007, at 10 a.m., in the Pettit-Davis Funeral Home, 371 W. Milton Ave., Rahway, (732-388-0038), pettitdavisfuneralhome.com., followed by an 11 a.m. service in the Zion Lutheran Church, Rahway. Interment is at Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Visiting will be on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Born in Elizabeth, Mrs. Croteau came to Rahway, New Jersey in 1958. She was employed by the Rahway Public Library as the childrens librarian and artist for 20 years before retiring in 1990. She was well known as Mrs. C by the staff and children that visited the library.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert, in 2004. Surviving are two daughters, Alida Thor of Rahway and Susan Weigman of Bayville; a son, Albert J. III of Las Vegas, Nev., and a brother, William Presler of Phillipsburg. She was also loved by four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and eight step-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made at the funeral home to the Alzheimers Association of America.

NEWBURY PARK, Calif. - Albert R. Croteau, 79, of Newbury Park, Calif., passed away on Monday, Jan. 14, 2008 surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in South Lawrence, Mr. Croteau graduated from Lawrence High School.
He retired from Singer Sewing Machine Co., and later from Sears. Following his retirement, Mr. Croteau could often be seen on television where he enjoyed many years of filming movies and TV shows playing various parts as an extra. During his 35 years living in California, he remained a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, and loved to play 45's and cribbage.
He was the son of the late Leon and Emma (Dube) Croteau. He is survived by his wife Anita of Newbury Park, Calif., son Russell Croteau and wife Maureen of Hudson, N.H., daughters Diane and husband Leo LeDuc of Sterling, Conn., and Laurie and husband Jeffrey Couture of Methuen, and daughter-in-law Laurinette Croteau of Methuen, stepsons, Jeff Marohn, Douglas Marohn and his wife Nancy, Garrett Marohn and his wife Karen, and stepdaughter Jennifer Scott and her husband Chris, all of California, brother Donald Croteau of Methuen, and sister Irene Macaione of Salem, N.H.
He also leaves 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Croteau was predeceased by his former wife, Stella Croteau, son Richard Croteau, brother Leo Croteau and sister Loretta Croteau.

Albert "Al" R. Croteau - Obituary
Albert "Al" R. Croteau, 66, of Midland, went home to be with his Lord Saturday, June 24, 2006. He was born on July 10, 1939 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, son of Armand Walter and Regina F. (Martineau) Croteau. He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1964.
On December 16, 1961, he married Sharon Jones in Amarillo, Texas, where they lived for many years. They moved to Midland in 1985 and Al retired in 1999. He was a very passionate man: Passionate about serving his Lord, passionate about loving his sweetheart, Sharon, and passionate about his love for family, especially his grandchildren. He was constantly found reading and studying his Bible and was heavily involved and loved attending his church.
Surviving in addition to his wife Sharon are his two sons, Rick (Vicky) Croteau of Clermont, Florida, Bill (Suzy) Croteau of Brisbane, Australia; six grandchildren, Sean, Chelsea, Benjamin, Nicholas, Destiny and Lexi; and his brother, Armand "Joe" (Iva) Croteau of Overton, Texas. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy "Dolly" Croteau.
