LAWRENCE \emdash Edward J. Croteau, 74, of Stuart, Fla., and a longtime resident of this city, passed away at Palm City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Palm City, Fla. after a period of declining health.
He is the loving husband of Ernestine 'Tina' Croteau of Stuart, Fla., they were married 20 years.
A native of Lawrence, he was born on May 1, 1935, where he was raised and educated. He was the son of the late Henry and Jeanne (Gosselin) Croteau.
Mr. Croteau will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather whose family was the center of his life. He enjoyed league bowling for many years and playing cards. Although he lived outside of the area for a period of time, he always followed the Boston sport teams.
In addition to his devoted wife, he is the proud father of two step-sons, Robert Therrien, Paul Therrien and wife Ellen; predeceased by one step-son, Joseph Therrien; three step-daughters, Kathleen Therrien, Diane Davis and husband Gary, Cynthia Therrien and Jerry Oram; predeceased by one step-daughter, Jeanne MacDonald; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Paul J. Croteau and wife Joan of Lawrence, Eugene 'Gene' Croteau and wife Lynda of Lakeland, Fla., Armand J.L. Croteau and wife Maureen of Manchester, N.H., Joseph Croteau and partner Joyce Haugen of Hudson, N.H.; four sisters, Therese Libby and husband Mark of Lawrence, Anne Marie Lavigne and husband Arthur of Pelham, N.H., Denise M.
