Bertha (Martel) Coll, 90, of St. Petersburg, Fla., died Sept. 17, 2002, at Tyrone Medical Inn in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Born May 9, 1912, in Pembroke, she was educated in the Allenstown schools and lived in the Pembroke area until moving to Florida in 1976.
Until retirement, she worked in the woven label manufacturing industry. She last worked at the former Suncook Woven Label Co. in Allenstown.
Mrs. Coil was active in and a life-member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2860 of Suncook. She was also very active in the Mirror Lake Sunshine Club in St. Petersburg and volunteered many hours of her time.
She enjoyed dancing, shuffleboard, playing bridge and especially bingo.
She was the widow of Albert 0. Coll, who died in 1967.
The family includes her son, Robert R. Coll of Bedford; three daughters, Dorothy Emond of Laconia, Gertrude Croteau of Manchester, Patricia Scott Bowen of Loudon; an adopted daughter and closest friend, Verna Paylor, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, at 9 a.m., at St. Jean the Baptist Church, Allenstown.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 300 East Bay Drive, Largo, Fla. 33770.
