It appears that Eliza was living with Fieldin Hardin in Springville, KY during the 1870 Census listed as his wife. She is 36 at the time and Fieldin is listed as 49 at the time.
It is reasonable to assume that the SPRIGGS children are NOT theirs, but an adopted family by Fieldin and Eliza. Keep in mind these children may have lost their parents and Fielding, being a preacher and having a 21 year old daugther (Alice) might have taken in the orphaned family on his farm.
In the 1870 US Census these children are:
