Services will be at a time to be announced in Marblehead, Massachusetts.
Mrs. Carey was born September 13, 1930, in Salem, Mass., a daughter of Lawrence W. Croteau and Natalie Cook Croteau. She was a member of St. Helena's Episcopal Church, a charter member of the Royal Pines Garden Club and past treasurer of the Massachusetts Federation of Gardens Clubs. She was formerly on the Altar Guild of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Marblehead.
Survivors include her husband, Bradlee T. Carey of Beaufort; a daughter, Candice Peabody of Norwalk, Conn.; a son, David Knight of Danvers, Mass.; and four grandchildren.

CARNEY [Providence RI Journal, Thursday 1 Dec 2005] Carney, Francis P. 'Pat', 87, a retired manufacturing manager, died Wednesday at home.
He was the husband of the late Lillian C. (Huling) Carney. Born in Warwick, a son of the late Patrick and Josephine (Croteau) Carney, he had lived in East Greenwich before moving to West Warwick 25 years ago.
Mr. Carney was a veteran of The United States Army Air Force, having served in World War II. Mr. Carney had been employed with Bostich Corporation, East Greenwich for 45 years, retiring in 1990. He was a founding member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Warwick and a member of the Apponaug Old Timers.
He is survived by a son Patrick F. Carney and his wife Michele of Granby, CT; two sisters Lucille H. Carvalho of Warwick and Marie R. Fournier of North Kingstown; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Joseph, Julian, Philip, and Bernard Carney, Beatrice M. Keefe, Eileen P. Larkin.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., Rt. 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Rd., Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Greenwich. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to the R.I.
