Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories son Gary (Cathy) of Fort McMurray, Alberta; daughters Leona Cheeseman (Rick Samaroo) of Toronto, Ontario, Judy Smith (Ray Smith) of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Cecilia Cheeseman (Raymond Hooper) of Winnipeg, Manitoba;

HAYES, Margaret Kathleen (nee Cheevers) - Passed away peacefully at Hardy Terrace Long Term Care Centre on Wednesday July 11, 2007 in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Leonard "Len" (1973).
Loving mother of John (Betty) of Bath, Michael of Calgary, William of Brantford, Marilyn (and the late Pierre) Croteau of Kirkland Quebec, Carolyn (Gary) Smith of Brantford and Donna (Jim Ward) of Manitoudge. Proud grandmother of sixteen grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Margaret was predeceased by nine siblings. Margaret was a lifetime member of St. Basil's Roman Catholic Church as well as a 66 year member and past president of the St. Basil's Catholic Women's League. She was a member of the King George Road Seniors, the Brantford Seniors at the Beckett Building and the Catholic "50" Club.
Margaret was also involved in organizations such as the Brant Right to Life, Birthright and the United Senior Citizens of Ontario. Margaret was past president of St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary, a member of St. Basil Legion of Mary and the Brant County Roman Catholic Corsira group.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Basil's Roman Catholic Church, 50 Palace Street on Monday, July 16, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Research Notes: Husband - Alphonse Croteau
We know this Alphonse was born to Louis Croteau - 1881 Census.
He married Hedwidge Moreau in 1892 then he married Marie Chenay around 1895. They had a daughter named Corinne Croteau born 1896. I have the QC Drouin records.
IN the 1901 Chester West Census report I find Marie LAMBERT listed as his wife - his mother in law is living with him!
a) Alphonse married Marie Lambert before the 1901 Census.
b) I have a duplicate family with the same names, children's names and ages.
Conclusion: Alphonse did not marry Marie Lambert on 08 Oct 1917 in St. Victoire, QC, Canada but married her before the 31 March 1901 Census.
